I awoke with a start in the middle of the night, I sense something wrong, something weren't right. I stomped into my boots, And slapped on my hat. I slip out to the barn, And heard the swoosh of a bat. It was out in the corral, A shadow in the broken moonlight. A puddle of darkness was all that could be seen, I vaulted the rails to find what the darkness would bring. It rose from the ground, It staggered and froze. It was my new filly, Out of Dolly's Rose.
